Announcing the International Committee for the Biennale of Western Balkans | Art Pluriverse II – Artist-Community Synergies
The Biennale of Western Balkans is honoured to announce the appointed International Committee for the 2nd edition of the Art Pluriverse Community Science Series for Intangible and Natural Heritage in the Balkans, on the theme of Folk Medicine and Phytogeography.

Steve Bisson, Faculty member at Paris College of Art, Art Director of Lab27 and Co-director of the Move Cine Arte Film Festival | Cultural landscapes, planetary urbanization, community empowerment, bottom up and social arts, ecology and politics
Steve Bisson (Treviso, 1976) faculty member at Paris College of Art at MA / MFA in Photography and Image-making. In Paris, he is co-founder of the international program ‘Blurring the Lines,’ which supports intra-academic dialogue and rewards graduates’ work on photography and visual arts. For over 10 years, he has been involved in artistic direction and curatorship, collaborating with festivals, museums, galleries, foundations, and independent spaces worldwide. He started Urbanautica Institute, an online visual anthropology journal, a reference destination for scholars and photography enthusiasts. More recently, he started the publishing house Penisola Edizioni to research and to support Italian authorship. He worked on dozens of publications and countless writings and articles in magazines, magazines, and books. Co-director of MOVE CINE ARTE, a traveling Brazilian film festival on art and architecture. Since 2019 curator of the Ragusa Foto Festival. Since 2020 art director at Lab27.
Ksenija Orelj, Curator of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rijeka | interdisciplinary curation on labour, hyperproduction, and the lack of free time
Ksenija Orelj is a curator and writer. She studied art history and German language and literature at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb. In 2013, she earned a master’s degree from the Cultures of the Curatorial at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig. Orelj works as a curator at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Rijeka (mmsu.hr). She is interested in interdisciplinary approaches to exhibitions and in projects focusing on issues of labour, hyperproduction, and the lack of free time. Some of these projects are We’ re Off, 2020; The Munchhausen Effect: On Time in Times of Having No Time, Galerie 5020, Salzburg, 2017 (with Anamarija Batista); Please Empty Your Pockets, MMSU Rijeka and Emil Filla Gallery, Usti nad Labem, 2016; and From within the Giant’s Belly, MMSU Rijeka, 2015.
Dr Bill Psarras, Assistant Professor at the Department of Performing and Digital Arts, University of the Peloponnese and Artistic director of Primarolia organisation | urban-cultural studies, performance art, technology and geohumanities
Bill Psarras (1985) is an artist and academic. He is Assistant Professor at the Department of Performing and Digital Arts, University of the Peloponnese. He holds a PhD in Arts and Technology (Goldsmiths), an MA in Digital Arts (UAL) and a BA in Audiovisual Arts (Ionian University). His art practice includes site-specific walking performances, text-based/multimedia installations, video/digital art and poetry. He has exhibited in international art festivals, group exhibitions, cultural institutions across Europe and the US. His research has been published in international journals, conferences, book chapters on the intersections of contemporary art, performance and urban-cultural studies. He is artistic director of Primarolia organisation.
