Jaan Valsiner suggests that through patterns we access everyday reality and operate across aesthetic and functional fields. From communication systems, traditional crafts and textiles, to data networks and machine learning, patterns organise and represent cultural production within recognisable fields. Therefore we ask: Can we imagine new patterns and representational fields through the synergy of new technologies with traditional practices? How do patterns manifest in public space through ephemeral installations?

Seen as an open-air laboratory, the park of Litharitsia will host a large-scale installation and a series of events drawing parallels between different artistic media: talks, workshops, media performances, dance, film projections will attempt to fertilise the park for the first time with experiences that leave an imprint at the collective memory of the city.

The Bubble is the first of three installations hosted at the park of Litharitsia. Starting with inflatable architecture for the first edition of the BoWB, the park will later host traditional architectures and open modular structures in order to explore the topic of patterns. The installations will draw parallels between architectural styles, techniques, and materialities bringing in the forefront existing, latent patterns, deriving from the installations themselves but also new patterns in the making, created by the repercussions of the events taking place in the park.

Unconference

Un-co-nference sets in its core the new age of the Commons. Examples range from urban space to open-source technologies. Locals and visitors are invited to attend and differ, hopefully get inspired and enrich their collective imaginary.
